I have finally persuaded my bosses that we need to invest in infusion fluid warmers and I've been researching them. I would appreciate any honest reviews and advice on which ones to purchase.
Yours grateful in advance,

Never broke, easy to use and worked well. Can put it anywhere along the drip line so can adjust depending on rate. I did find some less flexible lines didnt fit in it as well. At my new practice we just use the fluid bag, bean bag jackets. They work ok but with a slower rate the fluid has lost its warmth in the line by the time it reaches the animal.

Re: Infusion Fluid Warmers

I have used several. It is worth checking 2 things before you buy

1) what weight is it? some are really heavy and if a patient moved and the line picked the heater up it could pull an iv out

2) what is the lowest rate it works on? The ones I have seen commonly used couldn'y be used at twice maintenance in cats as it would cool before it got to the cat! They could only be used on quite high flow rates - meaning shock for cats or normal for larger dogs!

Re: Infusion Fluid Warmers

Had something similar in a prev practice I was on placement in, can't for the life of me remember who made if but we never had any issues with it (well apart from having extra wires to get tangled up in!)

I will try and remember tomorrow to have a look who makes it.

We had ours about 2 years and so far no probs

Re: Infusion Fluid Warmers

Hey

I think we also have the same one, always gets forgotten and not regularly used (I always forget we have it). Ours has never broken as far as I know but I could be wrong. Think it was made by aquapharm but not sure.

It works pretty well to take the chill of fluids.

Sure some others will have alternatives.
