Every piece of research I read regarding joint supplementation failed to prove its efficacy (scientifically), but your posts all sound so supportive. Has anyone else seen acute vomiting with joint supplements (especially the RCW feline mobility diet)? I had lots of clients on the Royal Canin mobility tablets but I've given up on that ever coming back into stock.

I always recommend a heated blanket/bed to help with pain relief and make sure there are some mobility aids in the house e.g. steps/ramps up to beds and window ledges.

Re: Green lipped mussel for cats

I use J/D feline with my cat (he is 8yrs and had a fractured pelvis at 5 months treated with cage rest and gets stiff without something). I would suggest speaking to Hills Vetline re feeding with CRF, but it is definitely effective and saves feeding all other supplements and has scientific evidence to show it works :-) Had several clients at work use it with cats to great effect too!

Re: Green lipped mussel for cats

No chance of overdosing on glucosamine but you shouldnt have to use the Cosequin at the same time and it will be cheaper. We hope to have the cat specific product out later this year for you. A loading dose is suggested which would be 1 tablet for the first few weeks until you see an improvement then go to the half tablet. You can source from local veterinary surgeries but be aware they may have to order it in. We are trying to get all of te practices to stock but even if they dont then they can order directly through their supplier. Hope this helps

Re: Green lipped mussel for cats

I might try those yumove tabs on my kitty, he only has three legs so needs all the help he can get!

Re: Green lipped mussel for cats

I was going to try the mobilty tabs but they dont seem to be available at the moment??
