is she on any antepsin? it would prob be worth it to help soothe mouth and oesophagus.

I would think she's prob been exposed again...poss walked in it hence the pads sloughing and chewed the bottle?

She was first seen about a week ago with mild (comparitively) ulcers in the mouth, no where else. The Owners didn't know at the time what caused it, but the only thing they could think of was a recent treatment with frontline (obviously ruled out), at a next visit they mentioned they'd used an oven cleaner containing Sodium Hydroxide, so the assumption is the dog got hold of some of that. She was doing quite well, but Saturday she was frothing at the mouth and her pads starting sloughing off - whether she was exposed again, or this is just an ongoing effect, I'm not sure. She is improving tho', she's still on i/v fluids, a/b's, pain relief and zantac, but the feet are just *so* raw and sore and there're more pads to come off yet :-( (have been using light dressings with flamazine)

Thank you for your advise, I will be looking into those!

how did she get the burns??

gastric protectants are a must,

for the feet, i'd dress them lightly with a moist antibacterial dressing such as inadine, or bactigras. bathe them daily in dilute betadine solution or hibitane, depending which dressing used.
