Wow cat woman you are on a good wage for an ANA! Better than me as a SVN in the South, and i didn't think my wage was bad really!

Just realised that my wage is not that bad compared to others! I am on approx £13000 after tax (plus overtime etc) & am an ANA. & I live in the SW which is a lower paid area I think. Bloody hell, don't tell my boss!!!

10,000 - 12,000 ...... if you are a qualified nurse living in then it will probably be a lot closer to the 10 than the 12. I was on less than 12 as a head nurse living in , no more than a couple of years ago

oh yes, just remembered. For those who wondered about people who clicked for more than £25k a year, the new VN Times has a job advert for Night nurse salary between 32K-35k/year!

Erm, I guess this poll didn't include any input for hours worked, or out of hours work? Just wondering, but wouldn't an hourly rate poll be more representative?

Ok, after doing a quick sample survey of average salaries, I found out the following salaries were on average as below:

£14001 -£16000 23 votes 23%

£16001 -£18000 19 votes 19%

£18001- £20000 15 votes 15%

£20001 -£22000 12 votes 12%

£12001 -£14000 10 votes 10%

Under £10000 a year 7 votes 7%

£22001 -£25000 6 votes 6%

£10001 - £12000 4 votes 4%

above £25000 a year 4 votes 4%

Total votes from VetNurse.co.uk = 100

Wow, as a general country-wide sample of salaries, its around about where I thought it would be. Any thoughts on this?

I went for a job interview for a lecturer's job at a well known college. Starting wage £26 grand, 10 weeks holiday, basic health care package. Whole interview seemed to go quite well until I was asked "Why do you want this job?"

Answer - "the money & the holidays" I don't like to lie but with hindsight I think I should have bull-shitted until I had got the job!

I'm glad there are nurses out there earning this amount maybe it might set a standard for other places... Well Done!
