Just wondering if anyone is using sterillium as part of a surgical scrub. I'm just looking for some information on it.

Many thanks,

That idea I like!

As for the benefits for using alcohol based rubs as part of the surgical hand scrub, there are many studies that support it as better than standard protocols, and many that show the added cost outweighs any benefits - ie its no better.

Interestingly, I have also read a study that showed that alcohol rub on its own was better than a traditional surgical scrub. It showed that our traditional method causes micro abrasions that actually allowed bacteria to thrive. However from memory the sample size was small. I cant find it looking for it now, but I know I saved it somewhere in my unorganised file!

So I guess, you can find studies to support whatever way you want to look at it

Sorry I wasnt much more help.
