I'm just looking for some advice really. We have just recently started doing arthroscopy in our practice and I'm just wondering what you all use as positioning aids to act as a fulcrum especially for elbow arthroscopy in smaller sized

Re: Positioning aids for arthroscopy

For elbows (medial approach) we used to have them lateral recumbency on a bean bag, affected limb closest to table. other limb retracted back and in position (much like for a lateral rad view). Affected limb off edge of bean bag and sand bag underneath the lateral aspect of the limb.

Many thanks for the replies and the advice. We will order some new sandbags. Just wondering if anyone would be able to send me a picture of one that has been set up and positioned for elbow arthroscopy. I know it sounds really basic but I struggle to have them positioned correctly. If I have them in a cradle there is normally not enough room for the sandbags. I'd be really grateful!

Many thanks,
