regans (now cvs) is apparently awful to work for, one of our 2nd years was speaking to a girl on her course who works there and works 12 hrs a day 4 days a week and 1 full day at college, they have recently gone from 8 nurses to 4 nurses, and the weekend work is bad too. avoid!! xx

I work for Pet Medics so I am fairly up on the CVS practices.

SaskiaVN - I meant my registration with RCVS wasn't paid - the Vet Times use the Register/List to know who to send it to for free

the buchanans vets in urmston is near the curzon cinema. the vets ( trafford vets) on the davyhulme roundabout is or was owned by a vet that used to work at petmedics. buchanans also have a branch at monton but aren't looking for staff at the moment.

There are a couple of vets in the urmston/flixton/davyhulme area. There's buchanans which is a practice ran by the VPI group and i think it's called trafford veterinary surgery, which is next door to the nags head in davyhulme. Buchanans also have branch surgeries, one in barton. There is also Pet Medics, again with several branch practices along with the main practice in worsley. Hope these are of some help xxx

Possibly try Acorn in Northenden which is very local to her. Not sure where they're up to with recruitng - are/were looking for a VN but are a couple of nurses down as I left my p/t role there to go full time elsewhere so they may be willing to consider an additional trainee.

She was in Altrincham but I think she has recently moved to Urmston..will double check. She prefers to use public transport but she is quite a hard worker and not shy of travelling to get to work so long as its not a crazy distance. She currently works in Withington Thanks again !!

I just emailed VT myself on the address on their website when I wanted to start getting it so you could try that.

The only Manchester jobs in it this week are the two previously mentioned though - AMC and Ashleigh.

Which side of manchester does your friend live and how far is acceptable to travel as I can keep an ear out?

Thanks everyone thats a real help. I am emailing them over as people tell me about them. its not helped by the fact I don't have the Vet Times..the RCVS took me off the register as work missed my payment and I think Vet Times go off that..I'm back on now but no one seems to have told Vet Times

Also an ad running at the mo for Asleigh Vets in Chorlton, small animal and exotics practice. Think it's for a qvn but may be worth a try as has been in for quite some time so guessing they haven't filled it yet?

The add for the referral nurse in manchester is the AMC (aminal medical centre). Fingers cross'd for her. That's not good that she been made redundant. Looks like the credit crunch is staring to affecting the veterinary world.

Regans is now CVS they dont do training. I know Queens Park in Bolton were looking for a nurse? and Rutland House in St Helens (if that isnt too far for her). Also one on vettime for Machester for a VN/Trainee/experienced in a referal centre, dosent mention the practice name just contact Julie Westlake on 07703277603 before 9pm. Also an ad for full time materniry 1yr cover at manchester Street Vets in Oldham, looking for a VN but may be worth asking, just says to right to them, but no harm in calling! 0161 624 4596.

Is it obvious im sat hear reading the vet times!!
