We need to order an infusion pump and I was wondering if anyone can recommend one? We are trying to keep costs down and currently are using IMS giving sets so if we could continue to do this this would be helpful as I know some infusion

Re: Infusion Pump

Dear Jen

I find the millpledge one much easier to use and find it doesnt beep quite so often for no apparent reason as long as the giving set is positioned correctly (the other one can be a bit temperamental and will scream 'high pressure' and 'air' continuously until I want to throw it out of the window!). We use infusion concept giving sets for both. We had to calibrate the millpledge one for these which was fairly easy to do. I'm not sure whether they had to callibrate the vet direct pump as it was already up and running before I joined the practice but from looking at the controls I think that would be a bit more complicated! The downside to the millpledge one is that it is quite bulky. The vet direct one isnt the smallest pump around but it is quite a good size and comes with its own storage box.

Hope that helps!
