That free access to food with a set levels of insulin is ok.&amp;nbsp; At least I know now.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But I&amp;nbsp;refused the cat because we have been told in the past to monitor the level of food eaten and that it had to be within certain levels if not a certain amount ( this applies to a cat we boarded last year!), obviously ideas change over time. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The cat owner told me&amp;nbsp; she gives free access to food, continually putting fresh down and the cat probably actually &amp;nbsp;eats&amp;nbsp;anything between&amp;nbsp;1 pouch per day to&amp;nbsp;4 pouches per day but&amp;nbsp; she does not know how much it usually eats.&amp;nbsp;&lt;img src="http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/emoticons/emotion-3.gif" alt="Surprise" /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;

We have lots of feline diabetics in practice and all are fed on ad lib and they dont tend to have any problems. Like has been said just make sure you have all vets details in case have any problems.&lt;/p&gt;

That way you can ask the vdet directly and then decide.&lt;/p&gt;
