My rabbit has arthritis in his spine, which made it difficult for him to clean himself and get in and out of his litter tray. I started him on Metacam and cat Cosequin using the cat dose (1/2 a capsule SID) sprinkled on his food. I only had to do the Metacam for a week, the Cosequin seems to make a hell of a difference by itself. I did try the Excel mature rabbit food for him, and this seemed to work just as well as it has the extra glucosamine in, but because I have a few younger bunnies I use the adult Excel so I don't have 2 bags of food on the go!! My bunny seems to like the taste of the Cosequin anyway, he just licks the powder out of the bowl!

My old rabbit was on Metacam from 8 years old until 10 years old when we decided she was too tired. She did famously on it but we did check her bloods every 6-8 months being a paronoid mum. There wasn't any supplements around when I had her, metacam was relatively new (showing my age now )
