I do not think the plauqe off would have affected the results - if anything it increases thyroxine not decreases as with this dog. It is not recommended for hypert cats as the ingredients is based on seaweed which naturally contains iodine (which affects thyroid function - normally increasing it).

Again yes it is a "natural" product but that does not mean it is harmless in all cases. But would be good to see what the company have to say.

Wow - I had no idea plaque off was contraindicated in hyperthyroidism! Bad nurse - must read labels more carefully!

I think as an over the counter thing, I automatically ticked it off as harmless

Hiya Kerry , how are you? (It's Katherine ex Bay in cyprus) I did ring them first. Their headquarters are in sweden and there was a slight language barrier issue lol so the lady asked me to send an email to their technical support staff. I've also emailed a couple of vet friends and they've agreed that if there is a thyroid problem.... either hyper or hypo..... the extra iodine would further effect the thyroid.

I'll post again IF I get an email back from them.

If you want to write a letter to them in swedish and get it translated let me know I have a very good friend in sweden that speaks perfect english.

If I was you I would try ringing the company to try to find the answer asap.....companys arent always the greatest at getting back to emails

I only know that it says on the tub: "Not recommended for animals undergoing treatment for HYPERthyroidism"- I'm not sure on hypothyroidism though sorry fat lot of good I am lol... hope you get your answers soon as, and that your lil fella is ok xx
