Work Experience is a great opportunity-here you can watch the anaethetics, watch what the nurses do and sometimes you can even 'help' with the anaesthetics like listen to the heart etc. This way you can get more confident and will find it easier in the future!! So yeah i would suggest work experience!!!

Good luck with it all-let me know how it goes!!

Yeh, quite tricky without the work as I generally feel confidence will come with really getting in there and gaining the experience with a range of GAs and getting through complicated ones will accelerate you further.

Can you grab some locum work at all? If not, how about volunteering - maybe at the charity hospitals as they are usually grateful for the help and you'll hopefully get a good GA caseload.

Also just ensure you have decent and reasonably recent literature to refer to. I'm unsure of any specifics off the top of my head but I'm sure there are some good suggestions out there...
