OMG, my poor puppy i'm sure thinks he is going to live a life of hell when he grows up haha!! I work

Re: Stop telling me my dog is doomed!!!
I keep being asked what breed she is as she isn't fat!!!
I have a lab too and she is small (and correct weight!) and I have been told she is underweight before and she needs to put weight on and whether she is a cross breed. People just aren't used to seeing those type of labs. I personally love labs but not the very chunky ones, like the working/leggy ones more

Re: Stop telling me my dog is doomed!!!

I've got a lab x fox terrier - chews everything he can get hold of!

But I wouldn't swap him for the whole world!! He has a unique personality - real fox x terrier mix haha!! xx

Re: Stop telling me my dog is doomed!!!

Hate to scare all you lab owners but one of the nurses at work has a 4yr old lab who hasn't grown out of eating things the list that I know of goes something like this

2 pairs of glasses, several tv remotes, whole tray of flower bulbs, half a fence pannel, multiple shoes, at least 2 mobile phones, a whole roll of kitchen roll, one very expensive necklace, a 12v battery and one of my handbags when I went over for dinner.

Thankfully they have all passed through so no exlap yet but we just know its going to happen.

Re: Stop telling me my dog is doomed!!!

Random croos breeds are fine as long as you don't call them the stupid names like:

coc-a-poo, labradoodle etc

These make them look posh when it's just a cross breed! People paying £300 plus for cross breeds, why?

My brothers new cat is just as bad as any puppy, he wants to eat everything, play with everything. He's in the bath watching water, running accross the floor with plastic in his mouth. I caught him chewing the cord off a curtain and then swallowing it. I had to pull it back out for him, thank fully still attached to curtain. I'm just wondering if the tree's next to come down, he does the simon's cats and i find him playing with the decorations from half way up.

4 mobile phones (expensive)

1 x carpet (pulled up and underlay destroyed)

3 x shoes (never a pair so lots of one useless shoe in my cupboard)

1 door frame chewed (no idea why as always has lots of nylabones, and in a random place)

2 x tv remotes

3 x cuxhions (zips are very interesting, don't you know..)

LOL! We spent the weekend with some friends who have a new Lab puppy. He was utterly gorgeous but did run my poor old boy ragged! It was lovely to spend some time in the company of a pup who I could just enjoy. I almost managed to banish all VN thoughts whislt being down there.

Luckily, his mum and dad are pretty clued up. He's already quite well trained for a 16 week old puppy.

Re: Stop telling me my dog is doomed!!!

I think its just a common trait with labradors - mine eats everything in sight too. Her favourite at the moment is socks but she has eaten her way through radiography positioing wedges, door frames and shoes too. I am hoping she grows out of it but she is only 18 months so I suppose we have a fair way to go yet. I suppose it also doesn't help that she goes to wrok with me as she roots through the students bags - they are good though and are used to extracting things from her mouth too. I think the record so far is 18 items in 20 minutes!!, I keep being asked what breed she is as she isn't fat!!!
