It had details of immediate care as well as long term care and rehab. I can't find any copies anywhere which is really frustrating.

Re: Post cruciate owner paperwork

Take a look at an orthopaedic referral centre website, they often have information sheets for owners on post op care and maybe you could get some ideas from there?

Re: Post cruciate owner paperwork

I remember receiveing this sort of information for our dog after she had her cruciate ligaments operated on(she had both done a month apart) about 10 years ago,but i am sorry i do not have it now, but I seem to remember that it consisted of recomendation as to bandage care and restrictive exercise as to cage rest for the first few days and then only short 5 mins walks on the lead after that for a fortnight or so and then gradually increasing the time over the next month to a max. of 1/2 hour but the rest of the time in a restrictive area making sure that she could not jump up. We kept her in her kennel and only took her out for short periods into the paddock on her lead twice a day or so starting at 5 mins and then extending and then repeated it after the other leg was done. Only after a month or so did we walk her for half an hour on the lead and did not let her off the lead for 4-6 months but it worked and she had no problems after that.

Sorry i cannot be of more help
