Sorry that its such a vague description but its been a while since I was working

RE: Anaesthetic gas monitoring

I just used Salus PAM for the first time last week. They sent me a tube which needs to be worn for 8hrs preferably. I then returned it to them in the post. It comes with instructions and a diagram. Its £35 a badge I believe and they enroll you on a reminder plan. £5 penalty for non returned badges. You get 2 weeks to return the badge.

Will hopefully get results and recommendations next week.

RE: Anaesthetic gas monitoring

We use Coltronics . We have a lot of gas floating around where I work as a lot of stuff is chamber induction or masked (exotics) so not sure if we should have a higher level surveillance but will chat to Coltronics and Salus and see what they suggest

RE: Anaesthetic gas monitoring

Hit's, we use a company called caltronics! They send two metal tubes that you and your vet wear on your scrub tops in theatre for one day,and then send them back for annalysis! It's really easy, costs about £80 and needs to be done annually hope this is helpful xx

RE: Anaesthetic gas monitoring

Think they are quite a traditional company!!! We just do once a year - they send us a reminder then they send us a monitor bit like a pen that we wear for 1 morning then send back and they analyse it for us. You could do it more often but we have never had an issue so just do yearly which is minimum required for practice standards. They do whichever gas you use - we used to use iso but are now on sevo and they do that as well. Think they do discount as well if your are bsava member though may be wrong on that.

RE: Anaesthetic gas monitoring

Thanks Nicky, their website is not very helpful, what does the monitoring entail?
