Its mostly with clothes and tries to put a huge amount of an item of clothing in her pouch, eg a whole tshirt sleeve

Re: Strange hamster behaviour - any ideas?

She is only 9 months, but thats middle aged for a hamster

Re: Strange hamster behaviour - any ideas?

How old is she? Hamsters can develop pyos (one of mine did) but they can also show some discharge during their seasons. Its not always noticeable if they clean themselves, but as they get older and hygiene is less priority you may notice it then!

There was only a little bit and it was a creamy orange colour. She's a very odd hamster, a vet thought she had cushings but it turned out to be habitual drinking (she filled a urine sample pot overnight!!!!)

Re: Strange hamster behaviour - any ideas?

When you say discharge do you mean vaginal? Polycystic ovaries? I've seen a hammy with an open pyo too.

Re: Strange hamster behaviour - any ideas?

That is odd. I too used to let my Hammy out in the eves and she'd spend ages running around until she got tired and took herself back to bed! She used to chew things (phone charger, bedding etc whoops!) but never put things other than treats i'd scattered in her pouches. Hope you get your little one sorted soon.
