So its my practical exam tomorrow, and I'm not currently working in vet practice, so it has been quite a while since I've been around any anaesthesia equipment. Right now I'm freaking out about how to open the APL valve. All I can remember is

Re: APL Valve

How did you get on?
With the bain, lack and ayres, you should have a green or blue apl valve, with a 'narrow to thick' kinda pattern on the top - turn towards the thick part, and then hold the valve up at eye level, and check it is open, whilst verbally telling the examiner what you are doing

If you get the mini lack, the apl valve it kina like a screw - turn it upwards, open it fully, so you can see the 'screw' part. Again hold the valve up at eye level, and check it is open, whilst verbally telling the examiner what you are doing

I hope that helps & good luck!
