Just wrote a very strongly worded letter to the BVA. I think they are making a massive mistake by supporting this..

I dont think anything will stop the farmers getting their way on this one - I just hope who ever is doing the shooting is making a clean kill and not like some of the bloody idiots I have seen behind a gun

This is shameful. This cull is political not scientific. The following quote sums it up for me...

Professor John Bourne, chair of the ISG, says that a senior politician told him ‘Fine John, we accept your science, but we have to offer the farmers a carrot. And the only carrot we can possibly give them is culling badgers’.

This makes me ashamed to be a vet nurse. 16%? That's ludicrously low. I for one shall be out there protecting badgers.
