Totally agree Helen, surely as qualified veterinary nurses we should automatically be SQP's.

Registered nurses should automatically qualify. the added cost to practices (or the individual)is not fair, we pay our subscription fee and then have to pay this! The additional CPD too is very difficult to find for small animal only and last year i was told i could count large animal CPD as relevant to my small animal status - ridiculous and undermines the qualification.

250 quid to enrol including exam and full copy of the manual - absolute snip at the price and a nice little earner considering most of this has already been taught as part of the VN qualification!
