&lt;p&gt;The consulting rooms are largely considered as the &amp;quot;vets&amp;#39; domain&amp;quot; but it is important for the veterinary receptionist to be familiar with the procedures that are undertaken within them and the equipment and instruments used.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A good working knowledge of what actually goes on behind those doors will enable you to reassure concerned clients. Many people are very squeamish - especially in so far as their beloved pet is concerned. Some people do not like the &amp;quot;medical smell&amp;quot; that they may associate with less-than-pleasant experiences. As a receptionist, it is your job to ensure that clients are put at ease. By helping to maintain the cleanliness, tidiness and general organisation of the consulting rooms, you are playing an important role in marketing the practice.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
