I recently saw this, and thought what a brilliant idea it was. It will serve to highlight the issue, celebrate those practices that are supportive of staff, and also hopefully showcase some ideas or protocols that will help those practices that aren't doing so much.

Infusion pumps

Hi everyone,

Am hoping to be able to get an infusion pump at some point soon - I know there are LOADS out there - so anyone that's got one could you just take a few secs to say:

what it is you've got
how well/reliably it functions

please..

If you've bought one recently, then a price and supplier would be great too.

If anyone has one that's surplus going cheap, please advise! :)

Rabbit NSAIDs - current dose rates?

Could I have some ideas as to the dose rates of Meloxicam that everyone is currently using in practice? My understanding is that they metabolise NSAIDs much faster, and need higher doses to achieve and maintain optimal plasma levels, however someone else I have spoken to has said that the dose should be no more than 0.2mg/kg.

The dose rate we have on our current protocol is 0.2- 0.6mg/kg q24h, (from the BSAVA rabbit manual) and for a rabbit in post op OVH would be 0.5mg/kg

If anyone has any references on this too I'd also be really grateful.
